FAQ's
How long are the Inertia Waves? Are the Inertia Wave products the same length & strength regardless of color?
Yes, all of the Inertia Wave® variants (SOLO, DUO & STRONG) are the same length & strength regardless of color. They are 2.8m long, with a 36cm Rail anchor (see Anchor video). You need to stand 3.5m back, with the tension on the tubes to perform all 18 methods/wave patterns. The color variants are strictly cosmetic
What is the Inertia Wave made from? & Are Inertia Wave products latex-free?
- All Inertia Wave® products surpass the physical properties of standard commercial rubber. We've developed a custom blend of natural tubing, made from 70% rubber and 30% special density powder, which enhances flexibility, resiliency, reduces brittleness, and increases tensile strength by 13%. With a 15-dip process, ozone protection from -29°C to 49°C, a double hypoallergenic overlay on the hand end caps, and military-grade, double-reinforced webbing capable of withstanding 1,200 lbs of torque, these products are built to last. Featuring a solid steel USA-made O-ring and carabiner for unmatched durability.
- We exceed the recommended dipping process “five times” more than the fitness industry standards.
- The rubber tubing used to create the Inertia Wave® products contains a small amount of latex.
- Tensile Strength (psi) exceeds federal specifications which gives it a totally different resistance profile then typical exercise / fitness tubing. “Ultimate Oscillation” & feedback response.
- Hardness
- Specific Gravity reactiveness
- UV Resistance under 90 degrees
- Our manufacturing plant in the USA & Mexico supports the world-wide goal to eliminate the use of ozone depleting chemicals.
If I slam or slap the Inertia Wave on the ground, will it get damaged?
Because the Inertia Wave® is NOT a battle rope, the most beneficial methods you could perform never hit the ground. Have you watched the Beginner Methods of Use video? There are a series of methods or movement patterns the Inertia Wave® goes through. The most beneficial methods go on the transverse plane such as the CrossFire and Super Typhoon. The Inertia Wave® method is also done in a thumbs up position which can be found in the ADAVANCED METHODS in the Video Library. Remember when you hit the ground it's intermittenting energy leaks. - you're shutting off and losing energy. That being said, if you want to hit the ground in using methods like the Thunder Slap and Hero Wave, it's fine to do so on a hard FLAT surface… The Inertia Wave® has been tested consistently on beach surfaces, concrete, asphalt, AstroTurf, hard wood, and surfaces alike. If it's a smooth surface it will be fine. Be warned - if you hit a stone or sharp surface you may put a small crack or tear into the tube. As specified, always check for small nicks and cracks and never leave it outside in the sun or inclement weather.
How do I use the Inertia Wave?
- Most Important: The Inertia Wave® SOLO & STRONG MUST be anchored 60-90 cm apart, using both black rail straps, and NO LOWER than 90-100cm from the ground.
- Watch all Beginner and Advanced videos.
- Think of the Inertia Wave® products as a jumping rope, that engages your entire body. It’s part of a circuit and is an intense cardiovascular workout which has extreme demands over a 30 - 60 second window. Ask yourself "if I went all out how long can I jump rope without getting winded?" You would use the Inertia Wave® in the same way.
- Each Inertia Wave® product has a set of exercises called the "Methods of Use" designed by the inventor himself to give you the most optimal workouts. Watch and perform these methods and try to endure them longer and longer as you increase your stamina and cardiovascular endurance.
- The Inertia Wave® can be used in many ways. You can use it as a warm-up before your workout, on its own high intensity interval training, or as a cool down after your workout. It all depends on the intensity and your perceived rate of exertion. You can use it between body weight exercises in what's called "active rest". Instead of using boring cardio machines, do 10 minutes of your favourite wave methods.
- Get Creative! Once you've mastered the methods of use, add some lower body movement patterns like step-back lunges, pop squats, fast feet, side shuffles, etc. Work it into your own routine in a way that works for you. The possibilities are endless!
Is the Inertia Wave safe for kids to use?
Yes, for kids (or even adult beginners) you can start by performing the same methods, but using only one tube. Work your way up to both tubes at your own pace.
Is the Inertia Wave safe for older adults to use?
Absolutely! For older adults start by performing the beginner methods, but using only one tube. Work your way up to using both tubes at your own pace.
Is the Inertia Wave accessible to people with disabilities?
Yes, we currently have many adaptive programs. Using the Inertia Wave® is excellent for enhancing the central nervous system, developing proprioceptive and cognitive skills.
I feel uncoordinated - the tubes are all over the place. What am I doing wrong?
- The truth is: practice, practice, practice! Not everyone has the athletic inclination to be flawless on their first or second try. Here are some tips that might help:
- Make sure the rail strap is anchored properly, 60–90 cm apart and 90–100 cm off the ground.
- Hold the end caps and walk back with your elbows tucked, until you feel a slight pull forward.
- Keep the tubes close to your body; don’t extend your arms outward.
- Stand with your feet about 30 cm apart, knees bent, and your weight shifted toward your heels.
- Stay loose—don’t try to muscle it.
- Keep your head up and “look over the horizon”; avoid looking down.
- Shake the tension out of your hands, and remember, don't muscle it.
- Why not start with just one tube?
How can I extend the Performance Span or Durability of the Inertia Wave
Clean with a warm damp cloth with eco-friendly dishwashing soap after every use.
